The suspect has not been named but fully how police are telling us. Theyre thankful for the communitys help in finding him. Lets see whats happening outside right now here at San Francisco international airport, there was a plane flying there across the runway. Weve got a lot of rain over the past couple days. Kyle is now going to give us those totals from over the weekend. So how do we do . Well, you know, we did pretty good as far as our season total. Some taking back to october. 1st, a look at our water year and you can see there were up 223 of normal in the north bay. Thats what santa rosa, just 132 inches of rain. San franciscos that 121 . Oakland at 92 in san jose at 130 . So were doing really well. And you just want to take a looj at San Francisco downtown. You can see the average amount of rain in the month of march is almost 4 tenths of an inch. And we have gotten 1. 6, 9 in just a couple of days. Im not even counting thursday, the 29th because house february, but just 3 days, we picked up more well over what we would normally get in a month. So we are right now kind of sitting between 2 low pressure systems, one off the coast here. They will ultimately track to the south and the other one that brought all the rain and snow thats tracking off towards the east. So while we remain between that we are unsettled, we are cloudy and we have a chance of a shower out there. We just saw one starting to pop up again around in the north bay between about nevado and napa over that area. And you can see just a little bit of a sprinkle trying to make its way along the coast to so nothing too extreme for most of us will stay dry, but certainly a cloudy and a cool day out there. Temperatures right now. No one at the 60 degree. Mark san jose hit a little while ago. But theyre already back down to 59 degrees. So to 50s kind of a day as we go throughout the night tonight, the good news for those of you inland is that those temperatures are going to be a little bit warmer. We had some 30s and Napa Santa Rosa in concord in the overnight hours. So tonights going to be a lot more mild and we will see that slight chance of rain on the back. And interstate 80 in the sierra reopens after being closed for 3 days. We have details on how they managed to get it back open after th interstate 80 back open to cars headed to and leaving lake tahoe. But chain controls are still in place. This after the weekend storm dumped several feet of snow in the sierra kron. 4 sweet golf has the latest. On monday morning, interstate 80 reopened over donner summit. This after days of constant snowfall outside the california highway Patrols Office in south lake tahoe. Officer ruth lowers says snowdrifts or everywhere, preparation is fuss or lower, says safe driving in the snow requires experience and precautions. And some people are not heeding the warnings. You could still see the shenanigans. You could still see that people were just adhering to the warnings. And, you know, if you did not need to be on the road, there was no reason to be on the road unless theres an emergency. Of course, big rigs are still forbidden. But as of monday, interstate 80 is back open to cars following a weekend of closures. And several are still in place. Highway 88 out of the carson passed west of kirkwood is still closed and im sure thats going to be closed for a minute. Emerald bay, which is highway 89 in the west shores still close. Those are areas that just get. Inundated with snow. So unfortunately, those are going to take a little bit more time to clean up to people may be champing at the bit to head to the snow is still might not be safe if you are not comfortable driving in these conditions, dont. It is definitely not something normal. Its not something that youre just going to learn today. Its not going to happen. Really goal of kron. 4 news. Heres what it looks like outside right now in tahoe. The roads are clear. His 80 to 89 cars moving back and forth here. No problem. Lots of snow there on the side of the road. Pilots here now. So we can get a total of what actually came yesterday was about 48 feet is what were looking out for. And im happy to say the winter storm warning has now been dropped for that western of the sierra. It was set to go until wednesday in the overnight hours. Youre looking at diamond peak where you actually see. A skier out there and a few over in that corner, there is just kind of hanging out, getting ready to kind of check this all out. I know that. So theyre sort of trying to get slopes open. Some of them are are not really there yet, but they are certainly working on it. And you can see why palisades 96 inches of snow in the in the last week. 72 sierra tahoe. This is often the last storm. 71 inches. 69 in homewood diamond peak. 65 and heavily. 57, you can see those. 24 our totals are pretty impressive. Its a lot of snow and it takes a minute to get things going after that. I did men ion that we did drop that winter storm warnings. You can see the sierra now clear it is still until 04 00am on wednesday for this part of the state, you know, up north of oroville, nevada city and for clearlake, the Shasta County areas until tuesday at 04 00pm. So still looking out for a little bit of snowfall. There. But the point is were starting to see a little bit of a let up in the danger that has been out there. That isnt to say that you shouldnt still be very concerned if driving in that area because as you can see, there are some snowflakes flying there and a little bit of rain as well. So 50 80 could still be slow going in spots. Thats for sure. And as we zoom out, you can see just a little bit of that moisture making its way into the bay area. Want to take you through future cast in kind of show you the next couple days. Just a little unsettled. So this is tonight. We have the chance of a little shower there iomorrow. Same story you see a little bit of sierra snow possible. Then this low pressure system starts tracking to the south. And when it does it pose that moisture away from the sierra takes it down mostly to the central and Southern California coastline before it heads out. So we stay to the point where we could get a shower or 2. And then by thursday, were starting to clear out now, as far as snow is concerned, not a whole lot left out of this system, but you can see some of the peaks could still see a little bit. And as far as rain is concerned for us, mostly a 10th of an inch. But wednesday afternoon, i think we could see the north bay get between, you know, a quarter inch and a half an inch. But thursday and friday looking really nice. Were going to warm up and dry out and then a little more rain expected next weekend. Thank you. Yosemite National Park is now partially back open after closing friday because of the storm. Park rangers say right now visitors are welcome to come in. All of this forcing librarians to navigate verbal abuse receives situations, dangerous confrontations and people having Mental Health crisis. Starting to make them feel the same way in contra costa county. We are seeing an uptick in incidents at all of our libraries and its a trend happening across the country. There were threats to staff and Library Property. There were damage to a staff and Library Property multiple times, including incidents of things being set on fire. The mediator for the Oakland Public Library studied over a dozen branches and interviewed 50 employees and out of it. The internal report which was published by the oakland based publication, the oakland side revealed that staff field more on safe now than ever before. Some libraries are worse off than others. But there is an overwhelming amount of evidence of low morale and employees feeling increasingly unsafe with the lack of tools and support. The mediator says that libraries open access puts enormous pressure on them, too. So the library said here, the Oakland Public Library is Inflection Point and needs to decide upon its path for the future or its path may be decided for it. This story was originally airing on our sister station news nation, which did reach out to several Branch Managers and oakland as well as a mediator to confirm this report. All right. Lets talk about our forecast. Heres a live look at a backup building up right now. On the richmond, sandra fell bridge thats heading from the east bay in 2, the north bay. Put a call out to see whats going unusual for this time of day doesnt seem weatherrelated, though. I can look dry and sunny in that picture. And morrison coming. Weekend. Hey, speaking of sir, if you think you need a break from this rainy weather, i thought lets take a little perspective shift today. The sun sets at 06 00 06pm. However, a month from now, were going to be looking at a whole different scenario. 07 35pm is our sense that you get where im going here. 08 00 03pm, and 2 months 08 28pm, and 3 months. So were getting to that space where were starting to see those days get a little longer that walk after work can happen. Doesnt get dark so quickly, however, having said that, were running well below average today. You can see the temperatures are across the board in the 50s. We should be low 60. So midsixties this time of year. So were going to see temperatures start to pull up a little by little as we head through the week. Obviously today weve got a lot of cloud cover out there. But having said that, the wind is nice and calm. So were looking pretty good on that front. And temperatures are a little bit warmer than they were this time yesterday. And as i mentioned tomorrow, a little bit warmer and the next day, a little bit warmer. So right through thursday, were going to see a bit of a warmup as we head through the week. And of course, it has everything was kind of kicking the systems and letting them roll by us. Right now, however, theyre keeping us cool. And you can see just a little scattered shower. Theyre just rolling through the north bay. Again, not a lot of this heavy, but it means that if youre driving, you could get a little bit of a sprinkle under wind chill. Maybe the roads are a little bit wet. So just be mindful of that as you make your way around. And im gonna take you through future cast to show you. So this is 10 oclock tonight. Again, you see showers showing up in the north bay and its just very unsettled. Now, the north face probably need it more than anyone else because you can see it. Its kind of to the north of you as we get into tuesday afternoon. You see that shower line just to the north of you. So thats why you might see a little more than others. Now that system starts to move to the south. And as it does on wednesday, its going to toss a few showers our way. And again, the north bay looks like the place its going to get the most of that. So what does that mean . Your totals in the north bay for the next couple days could go from about, you know, quarter of an inch to almost 3 quarters of an inch. While everyone else is just looking out for about a 10 2 tenths of an inch. But by the time we get to thursday, then were all going to dry out and were going to continue that warm up right into a gorgeous, sunny friday. And then yes, you do see a few showers on the weekend, but lets get to these days first, shelley. No problem.
