The president has experienced two episodes of transient drops. Reporter the president suffered two drops in oxygen his doctors decided were so serious they gave huh a steroid called dexamethasone. The medicine hes on is reasonable. One im worried about is dexamethasone. In a fair number of people it will cause mood swipgngs, it wi cause confusion, it can even cause psychosis. Reporter President Trumps doctors say he has been given three strong drugs since a few days ago including an experimental cocktail. The president at least has what we classify as rather than. Reporter during todays medical briefing, the president s team of doctors said hes responding very well to treatment. If he continues to improve, they may begin discharging him tomorrow. Sergio quintana, nbc bay area news. Sergio was talking about it moments ago. One of the treatments the president is receiving is a experimental cocktail by regeneron. The company is speaking about the experimental treatment plan. They released the drug under compassionate use approval that goes through the fda outside of clinical trials. We could with a single injection dramatically lower viral levels 100 fold, by 99 . The treatment is still under review and being tested on patients at all different stages of the infection. Tonight the doctor coordinating the president s care admitted he had down played the president s condition during a press briefing yesterday. I was trying to reflect the upbeat attitude that the team, the president through this course of illness has had. Even with that explanation, dr. Sean conley continued to evade questions from reporters when he was pressed about the president s lung scans. Conley is a decorated navy veteran, an osteopath. Napa county registrar of voters is trying to get the word out about options they have. Voters can either collect their ballot at the post office, which is holding mail for those whose homes burned down, or they can change their Mailing Address up until october 27 and get a new ballot sent there if they cannot pickup their ballot from the post office. With two months of fire season left to go, a very troubling statistics. Wildfires in california have now scorched more than 4 million acres. That number brakz the record for the most land burned in a single year. For a little perspective, 4 million acres is more than 6,000 square miles or an area larger than the state of connecticut. Whats most incredible is the vast majority of the damage has happened in just the last seven weeks. Nearly 17,000 firefighters are still trying to contain about two dozen fires across california. The Evacuation Order for the entire community of calistoga was downgraded to a warning late this afternoon. We caught up with some people as they returned home for the first time. But instead of happy, some return to distress, anxiety and fire fatigue. It was stressful. I mean, going through so many times in the last four years three years has been one thing after the other for us. Mixed feeling because, you know, when you get the news that you have to leave your town, its a horrendous feeling. The fires caused extensive damage to the famed wine country region. But the city of calistoga did not sustain any damage. You see it right there. Cal fire is investigating what could be dangerous and illegal activity at the glass fire. There are reports of people setting illegal backfires to try and save homes and businesses. Its also possible they have hired Fire Fighting crews to do the work. They said it is dangerous to set fires. They have arrested eight suspected looters found in the evacuation area. Here are the fire lines. Glass it fire has burned nearly 65,000 acres. 21,000 structures threatened 36,000 people, evacuated the fire. Now 26 contained. That is up from 17 earlier today. So good improvement there. But this airport qr code can help. You scan it when you park, and it saves your location for later. Sjc says you can trust its qr codes. Managers monitor and manage the qr code system there. Alex mosher said thieves are creating qr codes they print and paste over a real one and wait for you to scan. Malicious codes can send you a fake bill like happened to mark or open your phone to hackers. You need to check for tampering before you scan. It is somewhat challenging to identify that. We have staff in our terminals and on buses even to check the qr codes to make sure qr codes. That stickers havent been always consider the source. It will be inland, contra costa county, solano county, well se levels of smoke between so heres where things get interesting. Notice as we get towards wednesday. This weather system is going to pull tropical moisture, the first that approaches the coast by thursday night and friday. There it is approaching the coast. And it looks like friday now, the first system will pass through. And then the Second System which might be more intense may bypass most of the bay area. Looks like the north bay will get the best chance of rain out of that system. And then High Pressure starts to build back in towards next sunday. So in terms of rainfall expectations, i think right now as things stand, you can see up there along the north bay coast line, up towards eureka, half inch to inch of rain is possible. However, the other computer model wringing more rain farther south. That just updated for us. Thats encouraging that particular weather model now is putting the rain down towards santa barbara. You want to see that. You dont want to see the edge of the rain hung up around the forth bay as these things typically move farther north in time. Second half of the week, cooler temperatures. Well look for the chance of finding those raindrops on the increase as we get towards friday and saturday. Maybe as early as thursday night. In the north bay well be watching that closely as well. As we head towards next weekend, might need to find where you left that umbrella. That would be a pleasant change. This has been, i think, the most difficult period in my lifetime as far as our country is concerned. Theres going to be some Difficult Conversations in the days and weeks ahead for you and your team. What if theres pushback or some angst about, you know what, there are so many white coaches in the nba for a league thats dominated by blacks, whats your response and how do we get around it . We have to acknowledge were behind in terms of equal opportunity for black coaches. And there are many reasons for that. Most of which are sort of builtin to the world and the country that we live in. And the equal opportunity that is not there, you have to examine why that s the case, wy the opportunity is there for me and other white coaches and might not be there for minority coaches. Youve been championing social justice causes, not for months, but for years. But now so many people are kind of jumping on board. Is that frustrating for you or encouraging to you . Im cautiously optimistic. Knowing our countrys history, weve had a few moments like this in the past, but we havent been able to breakthrough. And i think the breakthrough has to come through the ballot box. People have to get out and vote for the change they want to see. And i think whats happening right now is the country is changing, demographics are changing, generational change is happening. And there is a real desire for change from a lot of the people that are now representing the majority, you know. Weve got to make our voices heard, but weve got to maintain hope regardless.
