San francisco wants to limit large gatherings. The nba has a Conference Call set for tomorrow so playing games leaguewide in empty arenas is a distinct possibility. Ive played on a couple of teams where it felt like that was the case at times. But you just again, were in uncharted water, so we will cross that bridge when we come to it. I dont think were thinking about it too much as far as basketballwise its more just our health, just trying to stay clean, fist bump, do as much as we can to limit accidentally spreading bacteria and things like that. But, you know, i think weve been educated on what we need to do just washing our hands. Kind of keeping our body fluids to ourselves. Its hard when you sweat. Because of the coronavirus Santa Clara County is banning any event of a thousand people or more so this puts the san jose sharks, the earthquakes, stanford, in this really unique position. Stanford is supposed to host the opening rounding of the ncaa tournament the next day. The earthquakes dont have a home game until the 21st. So well see how this all sorts out. Teams are trying to get used to playing in an empty arena. Obviously the empty building is one of them. There definitely will be be be b would be very strange to play in an empty building. I hope thats not going to be the case. Well have to see what happens. But it definitely will be a weird feeling if that happens, but well see. We love playing in front of our fans. Theyre great to us. We also know that health comes first, so were just here to do our job. You know, we love playing hockey and we love having the crowd. See how it shakes out. Different leagues and cities are handling this differently. The ivy league just cancelled their entire postseason basketball tournament, but the big east, theyre playing at Madison Square garden. They said we are open for business. Las vegas is hosting the pac12 tournament. Thats this weekend. Full speed ahead. Las vegas, tourism capital of the world, one of them anyway. Obviously theres economic ramifications on this and every city is trying to decide, all right, what do we do . Were in uncharted territory. Its complicated. Theres a lot of money at stake, a lot of fun at stake. I suppose people can make individual decisions. The ncaa tournament is next week. I mean so you have multiple venues, people traveling all over the country to get to game sites or not, if youre not allowed. Who knows. Every day there are new cancellations.
