WEST HARTFORD — Republican Town Council member Mary Fay described it as a “benign” comment left on a friend’s Facebook page before the protest that turned violent in Washington.
But following the remark — supporting former West Hartford Town Council member Joe Visconti as he prepared to attend the event — and a statement released by Mayor Shari Cantor and town council minority leader Lee Gold, Fay said in a council meeting this week she’d become “a lightning rod for being threatened.”
