Jesse: welcome to a special edition of jesse watters primetime. I'm pete heckseth in for jesse on friday night. Well, the grades are in and kamala harris last night flunked her exam. Did you see her on television last night? [ crowd boos ] this is going to be the president of our country? i don't think so. And it's the first interview she's done in like nobody's ever seen anything like about and if you're too weak to do a oneonone werp interview with a person that was so soft you know, i know dana. She's always, you know always nasty. It was a very weak interview from the standpoint of cnn. I think cnn should be ashamed with themselves. Just like joe with the debate, the country watched the kamala harris bubble pop in real time last night. As trump mentioned it wasn't because cnn's dana basht asked any hard hitting questions. She did not. Kamala proved she's not obama and she's not even biden. She's worse. What we're about to show you hide the kids will shock you. Not only did she not look presidential hunched over like a breakroom table? squished in between dana bash and tampon tim? kamala spent a whole month preparing for one interview and she couldn't answer the easiest question a reporter could ever they had to have practiced for this ten times. Ok, kamala, we're doing this again. This question's definitely coming. You want to be president, here's the question. If you are elected, what would you do on day one in the white house? well, there are a number of things. I will tell you first and foremost one of my highest priorities is to do what we can to support and strengthen the middle class. I think, sadly, in the last decade, we have had in the former president someone who has really been pushing an agenda and an environment that is about diminishing the character and the strength of who we are as americans, really dividing our nation, and i think people are ready to turn the page on that. So what would you do day one? day one? it's going to be about, one, implementing my plan for what i call an opportunity economy. Pete: day one we're going to implement my plan. What is your plan? i'll tell you later. Pass it so you can find out what it is. I've heard that before. Cnn had to ask kamala what her vision was twice. And they still didn't get an answer. Didn't democrats just spend a month telling us kamala is the candidate of of hope and optimism and change? to bring america what i believe the american people deserve, which is a new way forward and turn the page on the last decade of what i believe has been contrary to where the spirit of our country really lies. The last decade, of course the last three and a half years has been part of your administration. I'm talking about an era that started about a decade ago. Pete: excuse me. I prefer not to interrupt, but you have been in the white house for the last three, three and a half years, right? they pretend like the last four years of harris biden never happened. Dana could barely get the words out of her mouth much it's the easiest followup of all time but she's so in the tank she couldn't. Kamala wants you to forget that her fingerprints were all over remember this? the biggest coverup in washington history. You insisted that president biden is extraordinarily strong. Given where we are now, do you have any regrets about what you told the american people? no, not at all. Not at all. I have served with president biden for almost four years now and i'll tell you it's one of the greatest honors of my career, truly. Pete: i told you to hide the kids. Hard to watch. Body language experts told the daily mail when biden's name was brought up, quote, there was a lock of what could be fear in her eye expression and her brows pucker as she even rearranges her shoulders as though going through battle. That was the daily mail. Harris looked uncomfortable. You watched it. The whole interview. Maybe had something to do with her chaperone, coach tim, towering over you know you want your coach helping you but not right there. Or maybe it's because she was trying to be something that she's not. I mean i'd be nervous, too, if i was the border czar and let in 10 million people on my watch. Just one other question about something that you said in 2019, when you first ran. There was a debate. You raised your hand when asked whether or not the border should decriminalized. Do you still believe that? i believe there should be consequence. We have laws that have to be followed and enforced, that address and deal with people who cross our border illegally, and there should be consequence. Pete: mmhmm. More than 10 million people. She knows it. The harris biden white house sold the border for scrap and opened it to illegals. Now kamala believes in consequences? and maybe she's not magala harris? or is it magala. Pronunciation is important. Poorly rehearsed, visibly uncomfortable and she lied through her teeth and dana bash didn't stop her. She allowed her to do just that. The only time kamala told the truth was when she admitted, ah; hasn't changed. Do you still want to ban fracking? no, and i made that clear on the debate stage in 2020, that i would not ban fracking as vice president, i did not ban fracking. As president, i will not ban fracking. What made you change that position at the time? well, let's be clear. My values have not changed. How should voters look at some of the changes that you've made? should they feel comfortable and confident that what you're saying now is going to be your policy moving forward? dana, i think the the most important and most significant aspect of my policy perspective and decisions is my values have not changed. Pete: have not changed. Any time take this to the bank. Any time she says for the rest of this campaign let me be clear she's about to say something that's not clear at all or contradicts something she stood for before. You see, this interview was not about getting to the bottom of what harris actually believes. The media knows what you and i know, that she's a california socialist and that's putting it kindly. This was about testing kamala. Can she handle prime time? could she spin her way out of just a soft ball? it turns out she can't do it. Cnn's own fact checkers came out last night and gave her a flunking grade. The factcheck bottom line, abbey, is that she did not actually make clear out of 2020 debate. I went over the crypt of that debate tonight. Nowhere in there does she make clear that she had abandoned her previous support for a fracking ban. Pete: and the media thinks she even just missed the end zone. I think she moved the ball forward a little bit, you know. Maybe she didn't score a touchdown tonight. I don't think she moved the ball that much forward. I think we saw why it took her 35 days to do an interview. She was mushy. She was weak. It felt contrived the whole way. She offered no remorse, no regrets, no introspection about anything they've done. She's trying to skip a block of time. Pete: anyone looking for inspiration last night of course left disappointed. While you were left vindicated. Kamala sounded like the kamala we've known all along, a sham. I find a lot of her trajectory to not be my grand of woman, leader. We've got three major international crises going on and someone applying to be commander in chief. As a woman, i want to see you do more than, you know, appeal to giggling and having a girl moment on the stage. Pete: last night, kamala harris tried to run out the clock. She stalled and filled time with poorly memorized line after poorly memorized line and then she still fumbled the ball at her own 1yard line even though dana bash handed it to her on a silver platter right in the middle of her super bowl. Operation hide harris failed because, as soon as kamala stepped foot in front of a camera for the first time with the bright lights, the whole country's watching she was forced to answer for her flipflop mistakes and scandals all in a short interview and she couldn't do it. The interview was less than 30 minutes. That's half of this show. That's one eighth of fox and friends weekend. It's nothing. It's easy. Cnn tried every way they could to make it as easy as possible, although whoever put him in that break room should be fired. Who picked that set. What did kamala do? she handed the ball right back to team trump much that's called a bad candidate and it's called bad decision making. And if kamala harris can't even perform in a basic interview, a really easy one, how is she going to run the country? hopefully after last night and the debate that's still to come, she never will. Let's bring in a member of the trump transition team, tulsi gabor. First you've been a part of preparing president trump for an um up coming debate. You've debated kamala harris. The bar was very low. This was very easy, very controlled, very little pushback. What did you see? first of all, i think let's just take a step back and look at the leadup to this massively hypedup interview. They've been hyping this up now for over a month. She's going to do a big interview before the end of the month and so everyone was watching. We're looking. Ok. What is this big interview going to be? finally kamala harris after 39 days queen kamala descends from her tower to come and talk to the little people. And then what we saw made very clear what they've been trying to hide. She came across as very weak, insecure, clearly out of depth on any kind of issues and not even knowing where she stands on different issues or frankly what her plans are. And she came across as someone who's afraid. What she's afraid of is that we the people will see what she's trying to hide and that there will be this moment that the american people will be like that child that has the courage to say, hey, guys. The emperor's got no clothes on. And that's her. That's her right now and that's what came across and i think has been made very clear. It will be interesting to see now whether they stick with this strategy of trying to hide her or whether the american people are going to continue to see who kamala harris really is. Peter: that's right. What's the alternate tragedy now? i really think this is a big moment in the campaign. So do the betting markets which totally flipped in favor of donald trump after this aired. How do you play it? do you hide her more and play into the caricature that she's not capable? if you put her out there then she has to actually answer questions and the big debate's coming up so where do they go next? who knows what they're going to do. I'm sure they're telling themselves and telling her that she did a good job. They have to. I can tell you what the american people need to hear and they need to see from both candidates running for president is who are you? what do you stand for? what is your record? and what is your plan to solve what is so broken in this country? i've been traveling with president trump across different states just over this past week alone and i've seen him in real time talking with reporters, answering tough questions that have not been prevetted, answering questions from voters in the country, speaking about his record, speaking about issues. Voters deserve that from every candidate running for president and they are not getting it from kamala harris and i think we're seeing why, because she doesn't have anything to say. Pete: it's a big moment. Makes the debate even more significant. You're right in the middle of it. Tulsi gabbarmd, thanks for joining us tonight. Thanks, pete. Pete: the author of the great new book, actually just arrived in my office. American leviathan. Check it out, great read. I had a pleasure of blurbing it. I appreciate it. Pete: i want you to dana bash did an interview three weeks before this one, and it wasn't with kamala harris. It was with j. D. Vance. And i just feel like i'm watching a different dana. Here's dana with j. D. Vance on august 10th. You guys seem to be struggling a little bit. Kamala harris has been calling the shots. Says who? there's no evidence that kamala harris threw him overboard. Governor walz has called you and donald trump and that is weird. You're saying tim walz doesn't have affection for his wife? i don't even understand that. But you have been on the campaign trail questioning tim walz's military record. Governor walz served 24 years. Donald trump didn't serve in the military. He received a medical draft deferment. Do you find that shameful? where was that dana? j. D. Vance did fantastic adversarial interview and kamala crashed with softball. No. I think between that interview and what we saw last night, again abundantly clear the corporate propaganda saw the media arm of the democratic party. I'm still stunned, though. That was the world series of softball interviews last night. I mean it's the communist news network, prob davit ran dana bash. She's leading with answers in the questions and kamala still got beamed upside the head with the softball questions. I think what they're doing, though, you know i get what tulsi's saying there's no answers. They are trying to avoid really letting the american people know that kamala harris is a farleft neomarxist candidate proposing soviet style policies and the last thing that they had to do is really press her on answers, what do you want for this country? when she says my values have not changed, pete, i think we can draw our conclusions from that. She wants to continue the disaster of bidenomics. She wants price controls. She wants the open border. She wants to push the coercive socialism of the green new deal. I think we know exactly who she is and you're right. They've now got themselves stuck into a corner because do we put her out for more press? but at the same time think about last night. It was 18 minutes, prerecorded, not a live interview. She did about 9 minutes of that. She's going to have to face donald trump for 90 minutes on september 10th. [ pete chuckles ] i don't think she's going to be able to last through that debate. Pete: i don't think so either. The debate where trump took out biden, it will be that debate despite everything the corporate media's trying to do to put their finger on the scale for incapable human beings across the board, they had to expose to the american people it will be those moments, not all the coverups that ultimately matter. You see, since the visit, the media and their closest allies, otherwise known as unnamed sources have been working overtime to put together a new manufactured hoax about trump's visit, saying president trump sullied the hallowed grounds and started fights with staff. Are you willing to elect someone who was the least popular vice president in modern history and who offers no policy or vision for america simply because your brain keeps telling you anyone but trump? independence may not be for everyone. If you enjoy being lied to about your president's cognitive abilities, support aurelian tow tal yan airism or excited about communist policy. Pete: the whole thing is really good. Actress and founder of the patriotic antisenator ship apparel line ultra free, drea andrea matteo joins us now. Thanks for being here. Drea, what do you make of does the celebrity endorsement mean what it did in the past when you have a celebrity on the ballot himself surrounded by a kennedy and others? how much does that stuff matter? i mean, i am so confused by all of it. I am the token fox liberal. [chuckles] i come on and talk sense about all of these things. I mean, obviously i'm an actor but i'm trying to figure out which actors are actually getting paid to push this narrative right now, because any true liberal is antiwar, anticensorship, pro health. They would be antimandate. That's totalitarian. That was authoritarian, and that was on the left. I mean, i know that there's a lot of, you know, deeprooted corruption and sometimes they capture each party. Right now that capture is on the left. And i don't understand how all of these actors and socalled peace lovers are pushing something that is tyrannical at the moment. Pete: what does it matter? no. Pete: you mentioned getting paid. What is it about them? are they getting paid or just following the herd because that makes it eastny their profession? you sticking out this way doesn't make it easy for you to get your next gig. I'll never have another gig. At this moment at the very moment, all i care about is fighting for this country and just trying to wake up a few more of my fellow liberals to get back to the center of things and recognize the things they always fought for, all of that weaponization on the left is camouflage. They're fighting for social issues that really don't matter when you look at the big picture of what's really happening behind the scenes. The social issues are irrelevant right now, honestly. This country's falling to pieces and the rest of the world will follow it. Pete: you've made a really strong case. Drea, are you supporting donald trump? are you supporting were you supporting r. F. K. And now you are supporting donald trump? where does that put you on this election? i support kennedy all the way, and if that means i'm happy that there's unity right now. I think that, you know, what's happening on the left, if anybody can really examine that unity is a fourletter word right now and so is freedom and it's not on the right side of things right now. I don't think trump is a lifelong politician and neither was kennedy, and i think that's the change we need. You have ben stiller talking about change. The change has been happening for four years. What is he going to change? i mean we're here. We do need a change and these two men are older men who really don't feel like doing this, i don't believe. And they, you know they're not playing politics here, which is why so many people are angry, you know. They camouflage everything on the left with all this fake love, but behind that, it's not love. Pete: it's refreshing to hear someone who's with your background speak such truth unequivocally and know how to put a sentence together unlike anybody else who tried to talk to john. Drea, thank you. Thank you. Pete: appreciate it. More primetime coming up next. [ ♪♪ ] chase really knows how to put the hart in your local community. See what i did there? hey, jackie! (♪) evan, my guy! you're helping them with savings, right? (♪) i wish i had someone like evan when i started. Somebody just got their first debit card! ice cream on you? ooo, tacos! i got you. Wait hold on, don't you owe me money? what?! your money is a part of your community, so your bank should be too. Like, chase! a donald trump town hall moderated by sean hannity, wednesday only on fox news channel. Pete: the american dream was once a beacon of hope and opportunity but that unfortunately has changed. Owning a home has never been more expensive, prices rising to record highs. Essentials for living, baby food, groceries, eating out, gas are all up since harris took office. A majority of the country believes we're in a recession. Nearly half the country considers themselves broke while two thirds say they're living paycheck to pay check. The american dream feels like it's slipping away. And the person who broke it wants to not fix it or there's another option. We're going to become the energy capital of the world. We're going to pay down our debt and we're going to reduce your taxes still further. [ crowd din ] and your groceries are going to come tumbling down and your interest rates are going to be tumbling down and then you're going to go out and you're going to buy a beautiful house. Ok? you're going to buy a beautiful house. That's called the american dream. Pete: the country faces a stark choice this november and the american dream really does depend on it. You can also find the american spirit when you're looking for it. Fox nation highlights this in a new special taking to you hazard, ten kentucky. It was once a moving appalachian coal mining town and then the city hit rock bottom. An opioid epidemic, devastating flood and exodus of opportunity. But because of unyielding patriotism, the strong people of hazzard picked themselves up. The story of east kentucky and the story of appalachia has been told wrong since tiffs told. You always heard of the negatives without ever seeing the positives here. And there's far more positives going on than ever before. We're changing the narrative. We're inviting outside in to come and see what's going on. Pete: benjamin hall narrates american exceptionalism and joins me now. Great to see you, benjamin. First question, how did you know where to look? how did you know, hazard, kentucky would be a mace to look to find american exceptionalism and the american dream? pete, great to see you, too. First of all there are communities all across the country tri just like this, knocked down and picked themselves up. Doesn't matter how many times they're told they can't do it, across america there are places that can and this is just the first episode of a whole series of communities that have done this. But hazard is an amazing place. It really has been knocked down. Obama shut the coal mines and that took away all the jobs. Opioid crisis was worse here than anywhere else. And a flood knocked it down. With their hand, pete, they have rebuilt this town. They've built it back better stronger bigger and that's the story we wanted to tell. And boy, was it an inspirational place. I just think many of our viewers need to be reminded of this american exceptionalism that happens across the country and right here you see it on the screen. Pete: just like hazard, benjamin, you've been through a lot. What inspired you to launch this series? this is just the first episode. There will be other towns, other places. Why american exceptionalism for benjamin hall? well, first of all, look. I know i might have an english accent but i'm a proud american born and raised in america as well. I'm alive today because of american exceptionalism, american volunteers and veterans came to find me when i was injured on the battlefield. American soldiers picked me up in the black hook. American military medics got me better put me back together and got me home again. I left that just thinking we need to go and tell these stories. You know this is the greatest country on earth and they do things that they can't do anywhere else. That's why i wanted to tell these stories. And also because i feel personally that, if you get knocked down, you can always pick yourself up. We need to tell that story of resilience again and again and again. And that's what this town does and so i want to keep telling these stories. I know they're out there. I know all our viewers will share them as well. Pete: what was one thing that struck you from this? i mean, there could be a lot of finger pointing in that town. A lot of people saying this person messed it up. Or obama took the coal mines out as you mentioned much what was something that surprised you that people alluded to? you know, no one was looking at the big government. No one was looking at where what should happen in d. C. This came down to the community. It came down to the neighbors. It came down to the team work. These guys have grown up together shoulderbyshoulder. They knew they were going to get through it together and there was no doubt there. You know, these guys raised there, grew up there, they knew they were going to do t. Every team they got knocked down they said that's ok. We've been set back a few months. We've been set back a few years but we're going to go and do it so that sense of total enthusiasm and knowing that it didn't matter what some big guy in d. C. Was doing. As a community, they were going to do it and pull through. Pete: because in america, when the government gets out of the way and you have the space you can get it done. Benjamin hall watch it on fox nation. American exceptionalism. Congratulations, great series right now on fox nation. That's all we have for tonight. Two things. Don't forget to save the date for knocks nation's annual patriot pat roy wards december 5th in new york. Tickets go on sale soon. Fox news. Com/patriotawards to be the first to know about it. Tomorrow morning 6:00 to 10 a. M. Eastern on fox and friends weekend. One of the two of them will be there tomorrow. I won't tell you which one. I'm not jesse watters. We'll see you. [ ♪♪ ]
