bsessionthe most gifted, admired and reviled american diplomat of the 20th centure moy. there is no country in the centu world that it is conceivable that a man of my origins could be standing here next to thecoob president of the united states, a refugeanding he from hitler'sr germany. kissinger emigrated to the's united states in 1938 after serving in army counterintelligence in worldee war two. he earned three harvard degrees. kissinger's seminal 1957 book on nuclear strategy earned him consultancies to the kennedy and johnson white houses. >> dr. kissinger is a man who is known all people who aren interested in foreign policy. >> as president nixon's termm national security adviser, kissinger negotiated to entionad the vietnam war. while the commander in chief withdrew u.s. troops and secretly bombed cambodia, another 20,000 u.s. troops and countless vietnamesecambod e four years before kissinger famously declared peacerishee is hand and received the nobel peace prize. when the cambodia bombings leaked to the press, kissinger colluded in white house wiretaps and got it to revitalize our alliance, get into a new relationship with the soviet, and begin to feel our way towards the china. >> for nixon's historic trip to china in 1972. it was kissinger secret overseas flights that paved the way and their pursuit of detente with the sovietthe wh union led to major arms control accords astonishing breakthroughs. that earned kissinger broad acclaim, but enduring suspicion among conservative majors who lg argued he and nixon should have sought, like ronald reagan, to defeauet the soviet unionto d in the early 1970s. >> i don't remember anys i do conservative even talking about it, feedinn' g itself into good for one could even consider of the aspectssoviet of reagan's policy. vietnam had to be finished. poetnam had to be finished. the fact that communism was t ultimately defeated by the palliatives that nixon started then. but the politics that reaganha and that reagan could never have done what they did. if nixon had not first helpedd the ford create its structure throughout his service to nixon, kissinger publicly heaped praise on the president in public, certainly heroic quality about how he conductedln vietnam, but ridiculing himan in private and ultimately taking a more measured of his partner in power. >> he lacked the capacity to reach out to people as individuals. the way almost model, the kind it is that i've known did. >> so naturally i shall testifyu with respect all matters>> confi confirmed as secretary of state in 1973. >> kissingerof diplomacy helped end the yom kippur war. after nixon resignedssinger', kr stayed on a reassuring figure amid the upheaval of watergate and also for a time, an improbable celebrity bachelor. hollywooe yom kid drawn to the s diplomat who called power the ultimate aphrodisiac.mate yet lawsuits and controversy would dog kissinger for decadesf after he left power in 1977. liberals called him a war crimrals called him a war coddled right-wing dictators and was culpable in the assassination of two chilean officials charges. kissinger denied. unfazed, the elder statesman trotted the globe, a wealthy consultant, his widely sought. >> he could be critical of u.s. policy. we have to stop lecturing the russians on our concept of reform. i think what is lacking is athie definition of what the purpose of our china policur cy is. >> but kissinger supported president bush's muscular a response to 911 and the iraq war. >> we are going to sit there and let weapon the snd let weapon the mass destruction pile up in at country that is alreadweapony us them against its neighbors and its own people against whic ith we fought a war ten years ago. a war in 2014, he gathered10 with five other secretaries of state for the groundbreaking of the united states diplomacy center.a and to the last, he remained active in foreign policy discoursto the l reme. book writing a book calledld forary war crimes. arrest henry kissinger for war crimes agitators continued hounding kissinger as at the senate armed services committee hearing in early 2015, prompting senator johnng, a vietnam veteran, to defend the onetime architect of u.s.et policy there. >> get out of here, you lowlife scum! i' outf here yd like to apologir allowing such a disgraceful behavior towards a man who served his country with the greatesta man wh lifelong studet of balance of power politics. acclaimed author of more than a dozen books, an embattled subject of dozencclaimeds more. henry kissinger engaged every major foreign policy crisis across, six decades of service and commentary, and strode the world stage with an authority and charisma matched by few other unelected figuresuy in american history. in washington, richardson, w tualfox news. >> all right. joining us now on the phone>> is someone who knew dr sea. kissinger very well. >> our friend monica crowley is wita h us.th monica, thank you for being with us. a lot of people may not know t oft of people may not know about your background, but post-presidency, you worked for a long time, very closely with richard nixon, and you were alspresideno very close toy kissinger. tell us about the man you knew t and the man that richard nixon spoke of. >> yes. thank you, sean. first of all, my deepest sympathies to mrs. kissinger and the rest of the kissinger family. lived such a long and substantial life and it's never easyhe to lose someone. and i considered henry kissinger a friend. so i am very saddened by thisis news. yeah. you know, sean, my very firsty s job out of college was with the former president, richard nixoti . and during that period of time, i got to know a whole arra got yun of heads of state around the world and other diplomats otn. orld and other diplomats and the one, of course, that stood out apart from nin was dr.ean, apart from kissinger. and so i will tell you i,e the very first time i spoke to him, i was, you know early 20th and first out of college. and i rememberw, sittingdent with president nixon in his study in his office, and the phone rang and it was dr. kissinger. and over the interco m, nixon's assistant said, i have dr. kissinger on the post for you.vy and so i went to get up to give him some privacy to take the call, and he waved mehe back down into my chair. so he said set and he picked up the phone and he said, henry. r and the two of them spoke for a couple of minutes. and they oftencouple a couples a weouple of times a week about the state of the world. ek e stand what american foreign policy was and what it should be. >> and at one point in the conversation started, he sai d, akrsation started, he sai ne to my new foreign policy assistant, monica crowley, say y hello to her. and then she wrote her heard toward me. and i'm 21, 22 years old. what's that taught me. and i ended up talking to henry kissinger in front of richardd nixon. and it was a completeas out-of-bod ay experience. these two men working together c in the white house and then beyond to towering intellect. g shawn who worked together to advance america's interests in the world. ogether what tremendous partner? >> well, i can't say it anyif better. for well said. what a life experience for you to monica. too,our thoughts and prayers got to his family tonight. >> all right. s ju when joining us now, we have breaking news as ity relates to a story today, a mountain of evidence of corruptioy.n. e but new email released by the house oversight committee reveals money launderingovgh. investigators raise concerns about money from china. anyway, here with reaction. all of this is just news.com, editor in chief founder, investigative reporter john solomon. under and john.what t >> this is a huge story. tell us what they found. well , they are. >> tell me about it. yeah. chairman smith, chairman jordanh ,chairman komar working together. they're following that money trail and it'sairman on a nighte we're mourning the passing of henry kissinger. who could imagine decades after he had nixon opened up the door to china, that we'd havet wh a sitting president whose son shook down money from chinat . and by the time and sometimes invoking his father's name in a imtext fat message. t and by the time 2017 rolled around, bank officials over the country were flagging these transactions coming in from china, a $5 million loan, among them, $5 million, comes inton fm from an entity tied to cefc, china. that's the energy companybide hunter biden did a business deal with. it goes into one of these new firms that huntenessr biden created. it then moves into some of the money into his law firm, h some that money from his law firm goes to his uncle, james biden. some of the money fromto his james biden goes to joe biden. a direct traily from china, dirt communist china, all the way to joe biden's wallet. chbut in the process of that, the banks saw several red flags. wa butfirst off, there was no te documentation of thi ws $5of the million loan. that was a concern. the payments coming out didn't appear to have $ that was business purpose. that was a red flag. they saw the payments moving and goin that wg in unusual ways.g in it looked erratic to them. they looked this and said, hey,n this looks a little bit like money laundering. it looks a lot liksaela political influence peddling. they went out of their way to note that china was went ine business of going afters the sons and daughters in businessof famous american ps to try to gain influence with money. that'ss ofican what the bank fld in 2017. and then three years later, joe biden looked in the camerasy and my family never got any money from china. moh and thes knew banks knew the truth in real time. this looked like money laundering to them. t e. it looked like p political influence peddling from communist chinaical. >> wow. john solomon, thanks for that news. we really appreciate it. wowand joining us now as weon, continue our investigation, we have s thao much to talk about e with more house oversight committee chairman james comer. house committee chairman jim jordan, house ways and means committee chairmanon jason smith. gentlemen, i apologize. it's a little segment then we had a plan for. congressman colmer, thiscomer, is your committee. >> this is 2018 money laundering. investigat thie later warning about hunter's unusual erratic payments from china. payments from china. well, that's a great question. pathe bank did what it wason. supposed to do. the compliance officer called it. the what it wthey that this isl what they said was a companyiz with no known purpose, meaning it was a shell company orn a fakepurpos company. and they were concerned because the the politically exposed person who owned the account was the son of the former vicerr president of the united states. enthey through press accounts and through his ex-wife'sws, th and interviews that he had a drug problem, that he was he h trouble.m, that he was so they knew that he was compromised. they knew that china did thi s. ht this is the way that china bought influence. this is the way that china compromised politicians. they would send money to compromised members, a bigd i politician, to try to gain influence. soly, bi when they were when they contacted the bidens to ask, what was this, $5 million, why are they said it was a loan? just lik5 milliore thee joe bid, the checks that we identified he received was a loan. oan. so the bank did what i did. they said, okay, we'll provide the loan documents. they couldn't do that shot. they didn't have loan documents. so the bank knew that china didn't sin. hunter bidenn't , $5 million as loan without documentation. then even further, they said that hunter biden took 58% of that in the form of feesstriu and distributed it to various family members, includinte tgn. biden. let me ask you, jim jordan, >> syou,mk you, jim jordan, with your investigation into whether the doj has been weaponized to politicize inv. we know why this allowed the statute of limitations to pass. we know originally wanted nolimi charges at all against hunter. we know that htaass.e was goings with this this, you know, sweetheartng deal that got blown up by a judge in delaware. >> is this more evidence that biden's doj is weaponized and that protecting hunter? >> yeah, it is. and, you know, remember, son, r two whistleblowerswo who came forward and chairman smith's committelee, the doj would have probably got away with it. god bless the judge who saw the sweetheart . e dealtheart but it was mr. shapley and mr. zeigler who came forward and gave us tht it washoe factsw this whole investigation was slow walked and whatthis they d but i actually think jamie's right. the most important line in thi s i most important line in thi bank document is the line tha that says china is targeting children of politicians. so this may have been a lof thao less than a shakedown, which john solomon referred to. it may have been that someonwnee but it also could be going the other way. china trying to influence becaus goingothee at what china. they they most likely knew about joe biden and hunter biden's contact and involvement with this ukrainian energy company and how joe biden went over there, leveraged our tax dollar y llar s to get the guy fired who was applying the pressure to the burisma executives at the request of his son. so that's the scary thing here. ching a may have known that chio may have such an easy target or a big target and taken this action that they did. >> let me ask you, chairman act smith, because it also dovetails into your committee, the ways and means committeeio.i you know, if we look at all of the issues involving taxes o and, of course, the statutef of limitations, in one case, the amount of the sheer amount of money that we have been taking in this suspicious activity reports the shell corporations, the tens t of millions going to what james colmer is identified, embs ten biden family members. you know, what is your committee seeing in this? k >> you know, next week, sean,we we're having those two brave whistleblowers come wers comback to before our commu in fact, they have been givingti us additional documentation that'sonal going to help that will help with this investigation. l but one thing that we havey cl to pay close attention to those checks chairman colmer releasedn that were loan payments to president biden. >> what's quite interesting, if you look at the public taxloe returns of president biden's, there's no documentation of, any interest income that he reported. >> so if, in fac rept are loansg wouldn't you charge interest? we have a lot of questions. president biden and the the the whistleblower have done an incredible job, sean, by giving us. the evidence, the documentation to show exactldocumenty how thee department has not beenhow th following a proper investigation. >> and you add on top of that, there's a lot of loans. we got that,t of into thisme with congressman colmer last night, a lot of loans around there, but that would be something that should be easily traceable and an and agreement made. and you're right. interest being paid. app gentlemen, again, i appreciate you staying on with us tonight . in light of the sad,
