TALLAHASSEE – The Florida State women’s tennis team travels to face No. 18 Florida this Thursday in Gainesville, Florida. The match was recently added to the schedule and allows for the rivalry to be renewed. The Seminoles head into this matchup with a 5-1 record after a 4-3 victory vs North Florida. Senior Vic Allen looks to continue her hot start to the 2023 spring season. Allen is 4-1 on the season and was able to come back from a 1-5 deficit in the second set to win the match 6-1, 7-5 at No. 4 singles. Junior Ellie Schoppe and senior Kianah Motosono are a perfect 4-0 in doubles in the 2023 spring season, winning their last match 6-3 against North Florida. Junior Anna Arkadianou is ranked 78th in the national singles rankings and has played at the No. 1 spot in every match she has appeared in this season. The Gators are 3-1 on the season and are coming off a 6-1 victory against Baylor last Sunday in Waco, Texas. Florida is led by sophomore Emily De Oliveira who is currently 3-0 in the 2023 spring season. Thursday’s match begins at 4:30 p.m. at the Alfred A. Ring Tennis Complex.
