Everett police are attempting to identify a man who is suspected of committing numerous acts of vandalism in the city, including at a local church.Last Wednesday, leaders at Zion Baptist Ministries announced that a 7-foot cross that was in front of the church was pulled out of the ground and thrown down the street.“It’s unfortunate there are hate crimes happening because of one’s religion, one’s faith. But if we work together as a community, let’s just start crying out, stop the hate,” said Zion Church Ministries Bishop Robert G. Brown.Everett Mayor Carlo DeMaria called the act of vandalism at Zion Baptist Ministries a hate crime.“As mayor, I’m repulsed and distraught that someone would intentionally vandalize a religious organization in our community. There is absolutely no room for any hate in Everett,” DeMaria said.On Monday, the Everett Police Department released two photos of the same man, who is suspecting of vandalizing the cross at the church on top of other acts of vandalism.Police say the acts happened at approximately 2:20 a.m. Wednesday. If you recognize the man in the photos, please call Everett police at 617-389-5063.
