Governor Bello Matawalle has appealed to judges not to be lenient with bandits brought before their court saying this is the only way to end the menace which has engulfed the state for decades.
This was even as he commended both the Legislative and Judicial arms for maintaining a good working relationship with the executive especially in the state government’s fight against banditry.
The Governor made the plea while hosting the two arms of government to a Ramadan fast break in his residence in Gusau.
In a statement issued by the Director-General Media, Yusuf Idris Gusau, on Thursday, said the governor had expressed his happiness in the way and manner the legislators and members of the judiciary had supported the government in the fight against armed banditry and other criminalities in the state.
