The Governor of Zamfara State, Bello Matawalle has donated 400 bags of assorted grains to inmates at the Gusau Correctional facility as his Ramadan and Sallah welfare to them.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Director-General Media, Yusuf Idris Gusau, on Monday.
The statement noted that the items included 100 bags of rice, 100 bags of maize, 100 bags of millet and 100 bags of sugar.
Represented by the Commissioner of Special Duties, Hon. Lawal Abubakar, the governor called on the inmates to consider their stay in the facility as part of their destiny in life, admonishing them to use their experience to reflect on their lives so that they will be good citizens after their prison terms. ....

Ramadan: Matawalle Distributes 400 Bags Of Assorted Grains To Prisoners

Zamfara State Governor, Bello Matawalle, on Monday, distributed 400 bags of assorted grains to inmates at the Gusau Correctional facility as his Ramadan and Sallah welfare to them.
This was disclosed via a statement issued by the governor’s spokesman, Yusuf Idris Gusau, noting that the items consist of 100 bags of rice, 100 bags of maize, 100 bags of millet and 100 bags of sugar.
He said the governor, who visited the facility and the inmates, handed over the bags to the Deputy Comptroller Mr. Yunusa Ibrahim Ada via the Commissioner of Special Duties, Hon. Lawal Badarawa
While calling on the inmates to consider their being in the facility as part of their destiny in life, the governor urged them to use their stay for sober reflections so that they will be good citizens that will contribute positively to societal growth. ....

Four students of Capro Secondary Mission School located at Gana Ropp in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State were abducted in the early hours of yesterday.
This came as Zamfara State government on Wednesday, asked residents to defend themselves against bandit attacks but with a proviso not to break the law.
However, three of the students managed to escape following the prompt response of security agents while the bandits took one away.
The school, an arm of Calvary Ministries, is a few kilometres away from the Yakubu Gowon Airport and about 60 kilometres from Jos, the state capital. ....

Defend Yourself But Don't Break The Law, Zamfara Govt Tells Residents – Channels Television

The Zamfara State Government has asked residents to defend themselves against bandit attacks but ensure they do not break the law.
The North-West state is one of the regions worst affected by banditry in the country.
“People must not take laws into their hands, but should take due legal process in protecting their respective communities when attacked by any group of hoodlums,” a statement signed by the State Commissioner for Information, Ibrahim Magaji Dosara on Wednesday said.
“The state government has accepted people in the bandits vulnerable areas in the state to come out enmasse to defend themselves when ever bandits attack their community.” ....
