England captain Joe Root was quite candid in his post-match comments after his team’s 317-run defeat in Chennai on Tuesday. But what can be said of Root cannot of some experts, including former England captain Michael Vaughan, who slammed the quality of the pitch for being disproportionately in favour of spinners and not lasting the five days.
