Carpinteria’s Vincent Rinaldi broke his own school record in the 100 meters and also took the 200 meters title and broke open a close 4x400 relay to lead the Warrior boys to the Citrus Coast League championship Thursday.
The Carpinteria girls won the title too, the first time both boys and girls won a league titles for Carpinteria since 1999. The last league title for either was a girls’ title in 2004, in the Tri-Valley League.
Rinaldi was honored as the Outstanding Boy Athlete of the meet and remained undefeated on the season for the 100 and 200. He shaved .02 seconds off his school record 100 time as CIF looms, to 10.85 seconds from 10.87.
