Former Bradford County Coroner Thomas Carman, who resigned abruptly last week after a video surfaced raising questions about possible improper conduct, could also face criminal charges in Pennsylvania.
An investigator with the Luzerne County District Attorney's Office confirmed it is actively investigating Carman based on the video and accompanying text messages.
Carman did not offer a reason for the resignation, but he was the subject of a recent YouTube videoshot by Musa Harris, of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, who calls himself the "Luzerne County Predator Catcher."
Carman, who has extensive training in forensic medicine and death investigations, has been a high-profile figure in Bradford County for years, often announcing details of suspicious or accidental deaths before law enforcement agencies.
