Australian cycling has endured a fairly calamitous day at the Giro d'Italia as last year's runner-up Jai Hindley suffered on the sixth stage and saw his hopes of winning the title take a potentially fatal knock.
It also proved an embarrassing afternoon for Australian outfit Team BikeExchange on Thursday, as they ended up having to apologise after their team car inexplicably ran into the back of a cyclist, knocking him to the ground.
