After becoming× the first Hungarian to wear the white, and later the pink jersey, 22-year-old cyclist Attila Valter took the 14th place in Giro d’Italia, a never-before-seen result for Hungarian riders.
At the start of the last day of the tournament, the young Hungarian rider was in 15th place. On Sunday, he was able to complete the route between Senago and Milan in a little over 36 minutes, finishing in 14th place overall.
Valter was the first Hungarian to obtain the white jersey, given to the best young rider under the age of 25, on May 11th. After stage six of the prestigious race, he took first place overall, therefore he could wear the pink jersey (Maglia Rosa), which is another first for Hungarian cyclists.
