A forest fire that ignited Sunday near the border of Ocean and Burlington counties, scorching 617 acres Bass River State Forest, has been fully contained, while a second fire at Brendan T. Byrne State Forest fire in Burlington County stands at 407 acres, officials said Tuesday.
No one was hurt and no buildings were damaged in either blaze and crews are still working at both locations, according to the New Jersey Forest Fire Service.
