A forest fire that ignited Sunday near the border of Ocean and Burlington counties, scorching 617 acres Bass River State Forest, has been fully contained, while a second fire at Brendan T. Byrne State Forest fire in Burlington County stands at 407 acres, officials said Tuesday.
No one was hurt and no buildings were damaged in either blaze and crews are still working at both locations, according to the New Jersey Forest Fire Service. ....

LAKEWOOD, N.J.  The forest fire that burned 170 acres, damaged homes and critically injured a firefighter in New Jersey is 100% contained, according to officials.
The fire started in Lakewood on Sunday afternoon, damaging homes in Brick Lake Park and temporarily shutting down parts of the Garden State Parkway and several highways. A stretch of Route 70 remained closed Monday morning.
