In Monday's COVID-19 report card, the first report card of the week released by the city of Amarillo's public health department, a total increase of 25 COVID-19 cases in Potter and Randall counties was reported from Friday, bringing the area's total to 33,264 cases since the start of the pandemic.
Of the total, 459 are active, which is a decrease of 67 net active cases from Friday. There have been 32,116 recoveries, an increase of 92 recoveries from Friday, and 689 deaths related to the virus, which is no change from Friday. There have been no reported deaths related to COVID-19 since Thursday.
In a statement given to the Amarillo Globe-News by the city of Amarillo, city officials stated that Monday's report card "marks the first time the Amarillo Public Health Department has reported less than 500 active cases of COVID-19 since September 2, 2020."
