Accidental shootings plague Jacksonville; woman killed by neighbor

A 47-year-old Jacksonville woman who was shot and killed Sunday by apparent accidental gunfire from nearby will be buried Monday, according to family friends.
The shooting comes on the heels of multiple other accidental discharges of firearms that have left children and adults dead or critically injured. Jacksonville has seen at least 15 victims of accidental shootings since the beginning of 2020 and three in four days this month, according to Times-Union records.
Jennifer Edelen's funeral will be at noon at Crystal Springs Baptist Church at 1320 S. Chaffee Road, followed by burial at Jacksonville Memory Gardens on Blanding Boulevard in Orange Park.
