The organisers are pleased to announce that the designated charity for this year’s event is Honiton Memory Café. Commenting on the announcement, the chairman of the organising committee for Charter Day, Terry Darrant, said: “We hope everyone will support us and the shops participating in our window dressing competition to raise as much money as we can for them.” ....
Honiton s Beehive car park will be managed by the district council - Credit: Tim Dixon Honiton Town Council has agreed to lease its car park at the Beehive community complex to East Devon District Council so that parking can be managed by the district authority. Councillor Phillip Carrigan, chairman of the town’s finance and policy committee, said: “This is welcome, finalising the planned changes to the car park.” The town council said in a statement on Monday: “Permits will be provided to the Honiton Community Complex, pay and display parking will be introduced, free parking for those displaying a disabled ‘blue badge’ will be provided, a loading bay will be secured, electric vehicle charging points should be installed and coach parking will be continued.” ....

After reopening in September for room hires and classes then, briefly, welcoming back film audiences in October and during December 2020, The Beehive will now be closed for events and films until March 31, this year. The charitable board which runs the venue felt the closure was necessary after the announcement of lockdown three. Chair of the Honiton Community Complex Charity trustees, Serena Sexton, announced that: “With lockdown three ongoing we have obviously had to close The Beehive. ....
