The latest easing of government restrictions due on May 17 has given further encouragement to the team planning this year’s Charter Day, due to be held in Honiton on Saturday July 31.
The organisers are pleased to announce that the designated charity for this year’s event is Honiton Memory Café.
Commenting on the announcement, the chairman of the organising committee for Charter Day, Terry Darrant, said: “We hope everyone will support us and the shops participating in our window dressing competition to raise as much money as we can for them.”

Hard-working charity fundraisers at Honiton and District Lions Club have issued an appeal for new members to bolster their ranks and help them support more community projects.
Brian Richards, club president, said that because of the pandemic the club’s fundraising had come to a halt but they were planning their popular classic car show on July 31 at the Honiton Market Charter Day at Allhallows field in Honiton.
Honiton and District Lions Club was formed in May 1977 with 20 members from all walks of life. Their sponsorship was from Axminster Lions Club, with the late Lion Cliff Walton being their guiding Lion.
