Evacuation orders for residents were lifted for the Flag Fire in the Hualapai Mountains near Kingman Friday morning.
Pine Lake residents can return to the area, but the Hualapai Mountain Park and Hualapai Mountain Park Lodge remain closed to visitors. Non-residents will be turned away from Pine Lake.
Bureau of Land Management spokesperson Dolores Garcia said the areas will be closed while the county evaluates hiking trails and campgrounds for hazards.
The Bureau of Land Management has also closed portions of BLM Road 7101 and BLM Road 7178 for hazard assessments. Firefighters are working in the area to clear hazards and vegetation, as well as extinguish the heat-producing white smoke found in places like large limbs and along the containment line, Garcia explained. ....

KINGMAN, Ariz. Authorities have lifted evacuations for residents after a wildfire has been better contained in the Hualapai Mountains near Kingman.
The evacuations that were in place for around 200 homes in the Pine Lake community, Hualapai Mountain Park and Hualapai Mountain Lodge were lifted Friday after officials said the fire was more than 50% contained.
On Saturday morning, officials said the fire expanded to 1,265 acres and is 62% contained.
Mohave County declared an emergency as a result of the fire, closing Hualapai Mountain Park and activating an emergency response and recovery plan. ....

The Flag Fire near Kingman nearly doubled in size to 1,400 acres from Sunday night as fire crews battled high winds.
Mohave County authorities issued an emergency declaration for the fire.
One shed or outbuilding was burned in the fire as of 4:40 p.m., although the area received light rain that helped moderate fire conditions, according to a tweet from the Bureau of Land Management in Arizona.

Officials declared a county emergency for the Flag Fire in Arizona after it grew from 600 to 1,400 acres Monday, according to the latest information from the Bureau of Land Management.
The fire, which was described by officials as “raging out of control” on Sunday, prompting the evacuation of about 200 homes in the Hualapai Mountains near Pine Lake, about two hours north of Phoenix.
The evacuation order includes Hualapai Mountain Resort and Hualapai Mountain Park, which were ordered closed
“Mohave County Supervisor Buster Johnson has declared a County Emergency as a result of the Flag Fire in the Hualapai Mountains,” Mohave County Communications Director Roger Galloway said Monday in a news release. ....
