My time on Harvard Women’s Rugby could be a page out of a fairytale. I walked onto the team my sophomore fall, and we won Ivy Championships in both 15s and 7s, only to come back my junior fall to win a national championship. I never thought Sunday, Nov. 17, 2019, the day we won the NIRA National Championship game, would be the highest point of my athletic career and also my last competition for the Crimson. As of June 1, it’s been 562 days since we last competed. But I’ve felt the strength and lessons of my team more so in the last 562 days off the field than I could have imagined. Harvard Women’s Rugby, more than anything else at Harvard, taught me how to learn, how to be a teammate, and how to be brave. ....

Montserrat College of Art to welcome four new faculty members

Montserrat College of Art has hired four new full-time faculty to assist the college’s continued growth into media arts and other disciplines.
The new faculty will teach in the Animation and Interactive Media Program, the Liberal Arts Department and the college’s first-year Freshman Foundation Program. They are diverse in their educational backgrounds, teaching experience and geography, allowing for a greater breadth of thought and artistic practice to enrich Montserrat’s students’ experience.
The college received more than 300 applications for these four faculty positions during our national search. These four new members represent the next generation of faculty for Montserrat. We are pleased that Montserrat s excellent reputation for arts and design education helped us attract such talented individuals to join our community, Kurt T. Steinberg, president, ....

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. As millions of Americans live with a mental illness, this month we want to encourage dialogue around the issue of mental illness and treatment. Some of the most common mental health conditions are bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, OCD and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) to name a few.
Today let’s focus on trauma. In 2019, Harvard Women’s Health Watch reported the risk for mental and physical health problems from a past trauma goes up with the number of these events experienced.

Gina Joseph Joins Daily Cal Board | The Daily Californian


Gina Joseph, a media and marketing industry leader, has been elected to The Daily Californian’s Board of Directors. 
Joseph, ‘08, worked at the Daily Cal as an advertising account executive and was the business manager during her senior year. A Harvard Business School graduate, Joseph is Vice President of strategic partnerships at VentureBeat and was previously at Hearst and Digital First Media/Media News Group, spearheading product innovation, revenue growth strategy, and leading digital transformation.
