The jury trial for a 32-year-old Marshall man who allegedly shot two people in Cooper County in 2019 has been rescheduled. The Boonville Police Department arrested Derrick Young, who is accused of committing the acts in the Harley Park area on May 15, 2019. Both victims were transported to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment. Young is charged with two counts of a Class A Felony for Assault in the First Degree; a Class A Felony for Unlawful Use of a Weapon; and an Unclassified Felony for Armed Criminal Action. He remains in custody on $500,000 cash or surety bond. A Pre-Trial Conference in this case is set for 9 a.m. Monday, April 26. His two-day jury trial is set to begin at 9 a.m. Wednesday, May 12 at Cooper County Circuit Court. ....
