Connecticut’s seven-day COVID-19 positivity rate and the number of hospitalizations due to the virus both fell to their lowest points since October Monday, as the state continued a steady recent trend of promising COVID-19 metrics.
Connecticut reported 827 COVID-19 cases out of 58,524 tests administered over the weekend, for a positivity rate of 1.41%. The rolling seven-day positivity rate, at 1.83%, was the lowest the state has seen since October.
Also on Monday, the number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 in Connecticut fell below 300 for the first time since Oct. 27. The state also reported 280 hospitalizations, a decrease of 29 individuals since F ....

Dispensation Allowing CT Catholics to Miss Mass Expires May 22, Churches to Return to 100% Capacity

The dispensation for Connecticut Roman Catholics from their obligation to attend Mass will expire on May 22, according to Hartford Archbishop Leonard Blair.
When it was put into place on March 16, 2020, the dispensation coincided with the cancelation of weekend and weekday Masses. Those cancelations remained in effect through June 8, 2020, but the dispensation allowing Catholics in Connecticut to miss Mass was extended several times out of an abundance of caution for parishioners and clergy, Most Rev. Blair said in a release Monday.
