Daily coronavirus updates: Hospitalizations and rolling positivity rate lowest since October; FDA approves Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine for 12-15 year olds

Connecticut’s seven-day COVID-19 positivity rate and the number of hospitalizations due to the virus both fell to their lowest points since October Monday, as the state continued a steady recent trend of promising COVID-19 metrics.
Connecticut reported 827 COVID-19 cases out of 58,524 tests administered over the weekend, for a positivity rate of 1.41%. The rolling seven-day positivity rate, at 1.83%, was the lowest the state has seen since October.
Also on Monday, the number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 in Connecticut fell below 300 for the first time since Oct. 27. The state also reported 280 hospitalizations, a decrease of 29 individuals since Friday.
