SOUTHERN ILLINOIS. (KFVS) - The Southern Seven Health Department (S7HD) reported five new COVID-19 cases on April 1.
Alexander County, Hardin County, Johnson County, Pulaski County, and Union County each had one new case.
The region had 40 active cases, out of the 6,650 total cases.
Ninety-seven people have died.

• Geneva N. Powell, 25, of 302 N. Clay Court was arrested on a domestic battery charge at 1:49 p.m. Wednesday after being accused of being in a physical altercation with a family member, whom she then dragged with her vehicle.

• Danielle R. Pollard, 36, of Jacksonville was cited on a charge of disobeying a stop sign after the car she was driving and one being driven by Robert N. Caldwell, 64, of Jacksonville collided at 3:47 p.m. Wednesday at Hardin and East College avenues.

Four out of nine businesses in the March 3rd raid had liquor licenses.

According to Scott Hardin spokesperson for the ABC they played a small but significant role in the raid because 4 out of 9 businesses hit had liquor licenses.
The agents inspected the businesses to see if they were following rules set by the board.
Hardin says that when it comes to liquor and gambling, businesses have to comply with the rules set by ABC and the state of Arkansas. ....

Hamilton Lady Broncs Bow Out of State Tournament
The Hamilton Lady Broncs hit a roadblock on their race through the State Class A girls high school basketball tournament in Great Falls Friday. They were outscored by a not-to-be-denied Hardin Lady Bulldog team by a score of 53 to 29.
The Lady Bulldogs scored early and fast, leading 15 to 6 at the end of the first quarter. Hardin stayed on target and led 27 to 9 at the half. Hamilton continued finding a lid on the basket and were behind the eastern Montana team 43 to 14 after three quarters. For the final minute of the game Coach Griffin put the five seniors on the court to close out the 2021 basketball season for the Lady Broncs. The final score was Hardin 53 - Hamilton 29. ....
