The genetic condition has no known cure and has a 50% chance of being passed from parents to children – but now the 58-year-old is helping to try and change that. Sandy, who is originally from the Black Isle but now lives in Inverness, has spent his entire life watching loved ones slip away before being diagnosed himself in 2017.
