A longtime public figure in Hampden Township passed away Saturday, according to the Hampden Township Board of Commissioners.
Commissioner Kenneth E. Fetrow, a Republican, died Feb. 6 following a short illness. No other information about his passing was provided.
Fetrow, a graduate of Cumberland Valley High School, worked in law enforcement for decades. After graduating from the State Police Academy, he was one of three policemen who made up “the original Hampden Township Police Force in 1959,” according to commissioners.
Fetrow served for 43 years, of which, his final 35, were as Chief.
