If you are planning on heading out this weekend, watch the weather closely. Prepare for the worst-case scenario, especially if you are headed to remote areas. 
Deep snow is expected in Northern Herkimer and Hamilton Counties and snow squalls expected around the Adirondacks can quickly reduce visibility to zero, making travel impossible.  Be prepared. 
An extreme wind chill warning is in place for tonight and much of Saturday at higher elevations, where windy conditions will be the rule this weekend. Temperatures on summits are not expected to rise above zero on Saturday, and will remain in the single digits Sunday. Wind chill temperatures on summits are forecast to be in the low 30s, below zero on Saturday, and single digits below zero on Sunday. ....

The Changemakers, facilitated by Marion, Hendricks, Johnson, Morgan, Hancock, Boone, Shelby and Hamilton Counties 4-H, is a new experience for teens to focus their passions toward actions through community service to improve lives in our community. The COVID-19 pandemic is creating new, and amplifying existing, community needs that you can help address. You, as a participant, will also develop transferable skills, such as empathy, critical thinking, and public speaking, to help you thrive in your future career. Teens from across Central Indiana will learn about our community-its problems and assets-in order to research, propose, and pitch a project addressing a community need, all while guided by adult mentors. You will also build your own community through new relationships ....

REGIONAL COVID-19 UPDATE (1/14/21)


 
(OLNEY) The Richland County TB & Health Office in Olney reported seven (7) new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday. The new numbers from yesterday show 1,524 coronavirus cases involving Richland County residents, still with 40 deaths, 1,332 people recovered, 135 guarantined due to contact, 152 current cases in home isolation, and now 7 hospitalized. There have been 18,364 coronavirus tests taken with 16,840 negative test results. COVID-19 testing is still available at Carle Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney by using the front parking lot “B” off of North East Street from 8:00 each morning to 6:00 each evening.

(NEWTON) The Jasper County Health Department in Newton is reporting ten (10) new COVID-19 cases over the past two days with no new deaths. Yesterday’s new numbers show 986 coronavirus cases involving Jasper County residents with 15 deaths, 893 people recovered, 135 quarantined due to contact, 78 current positive cases ....

(OLNEY) The Richland County TB & Health Office in Olney reported ten (10) new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday with no new deaths or hospitalizations. The new numbers from yesterday show 1,519 coronavirus cases involving Richland County residents, still with 40 deaths and 14 people hospitalized. COVID-19 testing is still available at Carle Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney by using the front parking lot “B” off of North East Street. That’s from 8:00 each morning to 6:00 each evening, seven days a week.

(NEWTON) The Jasper County Health Department in Newton had no new numbers to report yesterday, still showing 976 coronavirus cases involving Jasper County residents, still with 15 deaths. ....
