Body Found After Barn Fire Identified As Tamera Sanders, Known Crescent City Area Transient This flier, posted on the Facebook page Creeps of Crescent City, calls for answers into the death of Tamera Sanders. Del Norte County Sheriff’s deputies have confirmed the identity of a Crescent City woman whose body was found inside a barn that burned down near Howland Hill Road and Bertsch Avenue on May 2. Deputies are investigating the death of Tamera Sanders, 29, as suspicious “until we know otherwise,” Undersheriff Randy Waltz told the Wild Rivers Outpost on Tuesday. The cause of death is undetermined, he said. ....

Courtesy of Crescent City. Councilors will allow Daphne Lambert to bring Del Norte Mission Possible’s Winter Shelter-in-Place program to the green space near the Crescent City cemetery. They hope the program will help clean up one of the community’s primary concentration of homeless encampments, allaying property owners’ complaints about trespassing, illegal dumping and stream diversions. Lambert says her program helps empower the unhoused to keep their camps clean in exchange for necessities like tarps, hand warmers and socks, food and candles. She also connects them with support services for those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. ....

He still juggled a loaf of bread, a tarp and some dog food, but didn’t say no to whatever Daphne Cortese-Lambert and her volunteers at Del Norte Mission Possible offered. “Anything I don’t use I’ll share with other people,” he said on a drizzly Thursday afternoon outside the Park City Superette. The little market at the corner of Elk Valley and Howland Hill roads near Crescent City was the final stop of the day for DNMP’s new Winter Shelter-in-Place Project. For the past four weeks, volunteers have reached out to roughly 215 people, providing tarps, raincoats, food and garbage bags. ....
