Gurugram, Jan 25 : At least three persons including an employee of the fertilisers department have been killed in separate road accidents at different stretches of the city, the police said on Monday.
All three accidents took place on Sunday.
In the first accident, Ankur Kumar, 29, who worked in the Gurugram fertilisers department and lived with his family here was killed when he was heading to Jhajjar from Gurugram in his Swift Dzire car.
On the Gurugram-Farrukhnagar road, a truck came from the opposite direction and allegedly collided with Ankur s car. He was rushed to the Civil Hospital at Gurugram Sector-10 where he was declared brought dead, a police officer said. ....

GREATER NOIDA: With the second illegal liquor factory being busted in Greater Noida in less than 20 days both times at the behest of police from neighbouring districts cops are now probing a greater nexus of illicit liquor supply emerging out of Greater Noida. Questions are also being raised on the checks and balances of the local police and the excise department.
While the Bulandshahr police had earlier busted an illegal liquor factory in Kasna in the aftermath of the deaths due to consumption of substandard liquor there, the Hapur cops have now busted another factory in Greater Noida’s Beta II area. Both the factories had been running in the city for the past 8-12 months at least. The liquor was supposed to target some western UP districts ahead of the panchayat elections too, officials said. ....

Bootlegger to 'return' his car to police | Surat News

Surat: The District and Sessions Court in Surat ordered Jeram Vanzara, a resident of Krishnakunj Vrindavan Society in Adajan of Surat to return his vehicle, which he had used to ferry liquor, to Adajan Police. Cops had seized the vehicle in connection with the prohibition case lodged in March last year. The court set aside the trial court order which allowed the interim custody of the Swift Dzire car to its owner after the Adajan Police challenged it demanding custody as per rules. As per the Gujarat Prohibition Rules, 2012, when the quantity of seized liquor is more than 20, then the seized vehicle will remain cops’custody till the trial ends. Cops had recovered 32 bottles of whisky and 96 beer bottles from the car. ....
