Wonder Woman star David Thewlis took to Instagram to share a still from
Zack Snyder s Justice League, seemingly questioning how and why his Ares had been added to the movie.Â
Well, it turns out he was just having fun with his followers (and that his face wasn t added to those flashbacks without his permission). As you can see below, the actor was actually on set very briefly to shoot a handful of scenes before his body was replaced with stuntman Nick McKinless.Â

The movie managed to create a lot of buzz since it was announced that Snyder will be helming the movie. The project was first announced in 2007 with a different director, but it was shelved. However, in 2019, Netflix acquired the distribution rights to the project from Warner Bros with Snyder directing the film.

Justice League and #ReleaseTheSnyderCut. We know it wasn t a particularly easy undertaking, and there have been hints that the filmmaker clashed with the studio over the movie s title. It s also been confirmed that they forced him to swap Green Lantern for Martian Manhunter.Â
