RUSAL to invest in smelter modernisation
RUSAL has announced that it will invest RUB 4.5 bn this year in modernising the Sayanogorsk and Khakas Aluminium smelters.
The majority of the funds will be used to upgrade the production of electrodes, install new equipment in the foundry division and improve the energy efficiency of enterprises.
As part of the modernisation of the Sayanogorsk smelter, RUSAL will continue with its large-scale modernisation of anode baking furnaces at the electrode production facility. The new state-of-the-art equipment will reduce the smelter’s impact on the environment, increase the energy efficiency of the enterprise and improve the quality of products. Completion of construction and installation work on this project is scheduled for the end of 2023. ....

Press Metal proposes 1:1 bonus issue

Aluminium Holdings Bhd is proposing to undertake a bonus share issuance of 4.038 billion new shares on the basis of one bonus share for every one existing share held, on a yet-to-be-determined entitlement date.
The company, which is Southeast Asia s largest aluminium smelter, said in a statement the bonus issue is to reward shareholders for their loyalty and continuous support as well as allow them to have greater participation in the group s equity while retaining their precentage of equity interest.
The shares will also become more affordable and appealing to a wider group of investors, which could improve the liquidity and marketability of the shares. ....
