Snohomish County Executive Dave Somers announced Wednesday that with the lifting of pandemic restrictions, Snohomish County government facilities will reopen to the public Tuesday, July 6.
When visiting county facilities, visitors and staff are required to follow Washington state and Snohomish Health District guidelines, including wearing masks if unvaccinated.
“Snohomish County residents can be proud that they have beaten back four waves of the COVID-19 pandemic and have been vaccinated in significant numbers,” said Snohomish County Executive Dave Somers. “We had the first case in the United States right here in Snohomish County, and we have been hard at work since January 2020 to limit death and disease. As we reopen Snohomish County government facilities to the public, we want to ensure everyone is as safe as possible.” ....

MONROE, Wash. Snohomish County announced plans Thursday for the return of the Evergreen State Fair in Monroe. The 2020 Evergreen State Fair was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The 11-day fair will run from August 26-31 and September 2-6 at the Evergreen State Fair Park. The fair will be closed on September 1.
The theme of this year’s fair is “Back in the Saddle Again – Open for Fun in 2021.” Organizers said the theme is a “cheerful metaphor of dusting oneself off after the challenging ride that was 2020, and the anticipation of reuniting members of the community and fans of the Fair after making it through 2020 together.” ....

The recently rising case rates in Snohomish County have now surpassed the phase 3 threshold.
The weekly COVID media briefing from Snohomish County officials was marked by a growing concern over the county’s stubbornly rising numbers of case rates and hospitalizations, the two critical metrics used by Gov. Inslee’s office to determine which reopening phase will be operative.
On March 11 Inslee rolled out the revamped Roadmap to Recovery program, initially placing all Washington counties in Phase 3, the least restrictive category. For large counties like Snohomish (more than 50,000 residents) to remain in Phase 3, they must keep a 14-day average of new COVID cases at or below 200 per 100,000 residents, and a seven-day average of new hospitalizations per 100,000 at five or fewer. Smaller counties are subject to a slightly different set of measures as shown in the chart below. ....
