Each campaign made multiple stops in Michigan with a flurry of back-to-back stops in the days and hours before voters hit the polls. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, voters cast absentee ballots in record numbers; while others waited in line to cast their votes in person on Election Day. The TCF Center gained national attention as Trump supporters gathered outside calling for the vote counting to be stopped until fraud claims could be investigated. Despite multiple attempts to stop the certification process, the Michigan State Board of Canvassers voted to certify the results and granted President-elect Joe Biden the state s 16 electoral votes. ....
One of the most crowded Omaha City Council races so far is for the seat that represents northeast Omaha. At least seven people are pursuing campaigns to challenge incumbent Councilman Ben Gray to represent District 2, which stretches from Forest Lawn Cemetery into north downtown and includes Florence, Eppley Airfield and Creighton University. Gray, a Democrat on the officially nonpartisan council, was elected to his seat in 2009 and has twice won reelection. He is one of five sitting council members who are vying for another term. Among the issues being raised are increased economic development, better educational outcomes for children and criminal justice reform. Fox61’s Lauren Zenzie visited the distribution site. Hunter Morton, Culinary Director at the Max Restaurant group said “They’ve been over the moon appreciative, so it’s great. Great for us too.” The organization opened their distribution of the 500 boxes at 10:00am, but they say people were waiting hours beforehand for the holiday meal box. ....
The Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) on Dec. 14, 2020 certified that regional/commuter rail agency South Florida Regional Transportation Authority’s IETMS (Interoperable Electronic Train Management System) complies with the technical requirements for Positive Train Control (PTC), thereby meeting the federally mandated Dec. 31, 2020 final implementation deadline.
