CENTREVILLE, Va., Dec. 18, 2020 /PRNewswire/ Parsons Corporation (NYSE: PSN) announced today that NJ TRANSIT (NJT) has completed the final deployment of its Positive Train Control (PTC) system; an advanced, technological capability that increases the safety of rail transit and protects riders.

After months of teeth-gnashing and worry over whether NJ Transit would meet the Dec. 31, 2020 deadline of PTC implementation, Parsons announced today that the deadline has been met, with less than two weeks to spare.
Parsons Corporation announced today that NJ Transit (NJT) has completed the final deployment of its Positive Train Control (PTC) system; an advanced, technological capability that increases the safety of rail transit and protects riders.

SFRTA PTC-Certified - Railway Age

The Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) on Dec. 14, 2020 certified that regional/commuter rail agency South Florida Regional Transportation Authority’s IETMS (Interoperable Electronic Train Management System) complies with the technical requirements for Positive Train Control (PTC), thereby meeting the federally mandated Dec. 31, 2020 final implementation deadline.
SFRTA has been running PTC RSD (Revenue Service Demonstration) on the South Florida Rail (Tri-Rail) Corridor since June 2019, and has worked with tenants CSX and Amtrak “to ensure all train activity on the corridor is PTC-equipped.”
