The murder trial of Anthony Cuevas continued Monday in Pueblo with testimony about the DNA on collected evidence.
Cuevas defense counsel planned to call its first witness Monday morning through a special motion from the judge in hopes of convincing the 12-person jury that Cuevas, 37, did not kill or dismember his mother, but instead the prosecution present several witnesses, including testimony from a forensic analyst.
The defense witness had been authorized to testify out of order due to scheduling conflicts later in the week.
The defense has alleged Cuevas did commit several criminal acts, including dumping the body of Maria “Mary” Cuevas-Garcia, 58, in a suitcase into a mostly empty South Side car wash; breaking into a Ford pickup truck at the Lake Pueblo State Park and stealing clothing and checks; and fleeing from law enforcement the day Cuevas-Garcia s body was discovered in the dumpster.

But who has the best chislic?
The Argus Leader Chislic Tasting Team was on the quest to find out. And we have some surprising answers for you.
Last month, I asked you to tell me your favorite chislic eateries in the Sioux Falls area. Most of them were sports bars, and one person even said NOT SIOUX FALLS GO TO FREEMAN.
