St Vincent de Paul is a bit like that - maybe not a needle nor an anchor, but a lot else.
It s a great relief that charity shops are open again. People depend on them for giving items that are no longer wanted or, more importantly, to buying items that are necessary but the budget is limited.

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - The pandemic, brought unexpected misfortunes to families across Louisiana. And with some families not having the money to host Easter celebrations, St. Vincent de Paul stepped in, like they always do, to lend a hand.
“I think it’s going to be better. Today is a better day to have a barbeque and just live life”, said Baton Rouge resident Floyd Norman.
With a lot of our states elderly and most vulnerable already vaccinated, and with COVID-19 restrictions recently easing up a bit, this Easter was different for many people.

As 2021 continues to unfold, so do south Louisiana s Lenten Season traditions. Included in these traditions is the annual Count Your Blessings supper held by St. Vincent de Paul.
But due to the COVID-19 health crisis, this year s event will be to-go in accord with novel coronavirus health and safety guidelines.
