Diesel Crucible Shipping Next Week On Monday, Forged Cigar Co. will begin shipping the Diesel Crucible, the final in what the company is now calling the Elixir trilogy. It is a 6 x 52 toro that uses an Ecuadorian habano wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and fillers from Honduras and Nicaragua. Like other Diesel cigars, it is being made at Tabacalera AJ Fernandez Cigars de Nicaragua S.A. in Estelí, Nicaragua. MSRP is set at $9.99 and it is limited to 3,000 boxes of 10 cigars. There is a previous Diesel Crucible release from 2012. That cigar was a slightly different size 6 1/2 inches long and used a Honduran binder. ....

The first release from the new Forged Cigar Co. will head to stores this week. Tomorrow, Forged will begin shipping the La Gloria Cubana Spirit of the Lady, a two-vitola limited edition line. It uses a seven-year-old Honduran wrapper from the Olancho San Agustín region over a Cameroon binder and fillers from the Dominican Republic, Mexico and Nicaragua. Spirit of the Lady is being made at General Cigar Dominicana in the Dominican Republic. Share Photos/Forged Cigar Co. A new Dominican La Gloria Cubana is shipping to retailers tomorrow and according to its distributor it’s made with a seven-year-old Honduran wrapper. Called Spirit of the Lady, this limited-edition series features an aged cover leaf grown in the Olancho San Agustín region of Honduras. Underneath is a Cameroon binder and filler blend of Mexican, Nicaraguan and Dominican tobaccos. Spirit of the Lady comes in two box-pressed sizes: Toro, measuring 6 inches by 50 ring gauge with a suggested retail price of $12.99, and Churchill, a 7 by 50 smoke that will retail for $14.99. Both come in decorative, 20-count boxes and are made at the El Credito Cigar Factory, a section within the General Cigar Dominicana Factory in Santiago, Dominican Republic dedicated to producing the La Gloria brand. ....
Oliva’s Owner Invests in Cigarpage.com The Vandermarliere family, the owner of J. Cortès and Oliva, has made an investment in Brandshopper, the Pennsylvania-based company that owns cigarpage.com. Brandshopper was founded by Keith Meier, one of the founders of Cigars International, and includes cigarpage.com, an online cigar storefront; wingsupply.com, an online hunting storefront; and fieldsupply.com, an online outdoors storefront. Meier co-founded Cigars International in 1996. It was sold to Swedish Match in 2007 and is now owned by Scandinavian Tobacco Group. “The new investment will help accelerate growth and provide the extra push to acquire greater market share in this environment,” said Meier in a press release. “It was important to work with the right partner – and Fred was the one. It was clear early in our discussions that we had a shared vision.” ....
