A record-breaking year for Mid-Norfolk Foodbank Wellspring Church in Dereham, Swaffham Baptist Church, and Fakenham Salvation Army centre have provided the bases for a record-breaking year at Mid-Norfolk Foodbank. About 1500 children were among the 4000 people fed by the mid-Norfolk Foodbank over the past year. To help it meet the demand, the foodbank received a record 62.8 tonnes of donations in the year to March 1 2021 – compared to 44 tonnes in the previous year. Almost 50 tonnes of staple foods, toiletries and other donated household goods were handed out to single people, couples and families from distribution centres at Dereham, Swaffham and Fakenham. Remaining stocks are being maintained in anticipation of another busy year, as hundreds of families grapple with redundancy and low incomes, as well as the arrival of home heating bills after the cold winter. ....
Reedham Gospel Hall goes up for sale The Gospel Hall in the Broadland village of Reedham has closed, and will be going under the auction hammer, because of a decline in attendance. The property, overlooking the river from an elevated position in the village, has a main hall with a wooden floor, a kitchen, cloakrooms and a garden. It is on sale with a guide price of £60,000.
The hall, which is run by a board of trustees, is believed to date back partly to 1899 and has been used over the years for services as well as community events. In 2017 it was the backdrop for a passion play depicting the last few days before Jesus death, performed in front of 500 people. ....
Acle prayer walk led by local churches Acle Churches Together (ACT) held its traditional annual prayer walk last Sunday, stopping at various venues in the community to recognise and pray for the work done by the staff employed by them. The walk, on the afternoon of Sunday May 23, was led by Church of England Rector the Rev Martin Greenland accompanied by Methodist Minister the Rev Andrew King and Roman Catholic Deacon the Rev Peter Glanville, a retired BBC producer who, 20 years ago, conceived the original idea of the walk.

She describes her demanding journey into leadership. I was appointed as Location Pastor for Alive Church Wymondham in August 2020. It was right in the middle of the pandemic, so that was a bit of baptism by fire. I have lived in Wymondham and have been a part of the church since 2008. I started my Christian walk over 30 years and always felt a call on my life, but I have had to journey through that to get to what I am doing now. I have been involved in various aspects of church life including teaching children’s Sunday school, being part of a worship band, being on the prayer team and teaching at different workshops. ....
