Massive reshuffles jolt Punjab police dept in 2020 Six AIGs were transferred in first reshuffle in April PHOTO: FILE LAHORE: Punjab Police went through a massive reshuffle during 2020 as hundreds of policemen from the rank of Inspector General of Police to constable rank were transferred or surrendered before the Establishment Division. A few of the notable transfers included former IGP Shoib Dastaghir, former CCPO BA Nasir, former CCPO Zulfiqar Hameed, DIG Shehzada Sultan, SSP Liaqat Malik, SSP Zeeshan Asghar, SP Asim Iftikhar, SP Anoush Masood Chaudhry. The first major reshuffle in 2020 was made on April 14. At least six additional inspector generals (add IGs), two Regional Police Officers (RPOs), 13 deputy inspector generals (DIGs) and two senior superintendents of police (SSPs) were transferred and posted. PHOTO: EXPRESS LAHORE: The Punjab government removed on Friday DIG Umar Sheikh from the post of capital city police officer (CCPO) Lahore months after he was appointed on the position following much controversy. The police officer s transfer was authorised by Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar. He has now been posted as deputy commandment Punjab constabulary. Senior police officer Ghulam Mohammad Dogar has been appointed as the new CCPO Lahore. Sheikh s appointment as Lahore s chief police officer came on September 8. PHOTO: REUTERS LAHORE: A row between Superintendent Police Investigations Cantonment (SP) Anoush Masood Chaudhry and Senior Superintendent of Police Investigations (SSP) Abdul Ghaffar Qaisrani has resulted into the transfer of the former. A few days back, the SSP Investigations had written a letter to SP Anoush pointing out that she was not taking interest in her official duties. The letter mentioned that she was unaware of developments on key cases and skipped appearance before the court to assist seniors. She was also not available to the public to listen to their grievances, failed to attend district standing board meetings. Chauhdry in a reply to his immediate boss had accused him of misleading the senior police officers and termed his dealing as callous, rude and biased. ....
