The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission welcomed five new faces to the ranks of wildlife officers during a commencement ceremony July 23 at commission headquarters in Little Rock.
• Wildlife officer graduates are:
• Austin Powell from Star City assigned to Drew County;
• Jennifer Ghormley from Emmet assigned to Nevada County;
• Drake Cooper from Conway assigned to Phillips County;

SHERWOOD, Ark. According to the Sherwood Police Department, firefighters were dispatched to a fire at the Retirement Center of Arkansas around 11:05 p.m. on Monday. Fire crews were on the scene less than four minutes after the call was reported. Whoo, it went fast, Ed Holman, the owner of the retirement center said. Our plan first thing this morning was what happens to the residents.
Police say all 51 residents were safely evacuated and transported to the North Pulaski Methodist Church.

Whether it s the highways or your city streets, it s just too dangerous out there.
While these dangerous conditions only worsen as the snow continues to fall, police departments are sending out a warning.
The snow-covered streets and icicles forming on buildings paints a beautiful picture of the natural state.

Pacific Foods donates 320 tons of products to Oregon Food Bank, Valentine s Day to honor senior citizens
Pacific Foods donates 35 truckloads of soup to Oregon Food Bank
In an effort to respond to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, and an earlier response to help out those affected by the devastating Oregon wildfires, Tualatin-based Pacific Foods has donated 35 truckloads of soup and broth to the Oregon Food Bank.
The donation of the 320 tons of products, which began last October, is equivalent to 533,300 meals, according to company officials.
Pacific Foods, which specializes in organic, shelf-stable products, has had a 20 year relationship with Oregon Food Bank, donating more than 9.2 million pounds of food over that time.
