45 blood products were collected at the event. 7:00 am, Mar. 8, 2021 × First United Methodist Church hosted a blood drive with Vitalant on Feb. 22 which helped collect 45 units of blood products for patients in need. Fifty-four individuals volunteered to donate blood, and 40 were able to donate at the drive. Five people gave Power Red Cells (2RBC), which collects two units of red blood cells while returning platelets, plasma and a saline solution to the donor. One person volunteered for the first time. Vitalant expressed its gratitude to Sharon Caine, who coordinated the drive, and First United Methodist Church which sponsored the blood drive, as well as others who assisted with the drive, Don Caine, Carol McIlravy, Erma Mogck, Cheryl Trapp, Roxanne Mitzel, Jay Nitschke and Shari Becker. ....
Dec 15, 2020 In efforts to help address the substantial impact of the coronavirus pandemic, the city of Richmond has created a Small Business COVID Grant Fund of $100,000 to help small, local businesses. According to Order 20-138, presented on Tuesday in the final official meeting of 2020, this fund would aim to provide relief to some businesses through an application process up to the amount of $2,500. Richmond City Manager Rob Minerich introduced the document and stated this was the fruition of a conversation between Sharon Cain, the cityâs finance director, and Tyler Johnson, the community development coordinator. â. (We) talked about this for some time and we applied for, received and accounted for the CARES money that we appropriated and we can make available this first time $100,000 to try to give local, small businesses relief,â he shared via Zoom. ....
