45 blood products were collected at the event. 7:00 am, Mar. 8, 2021 × First United Methodist Church hosted a blood drive with Vitalant on Feb. 22 which helped collect 45 units of blood products for patients in need. Fifty-four individuals volunteered to donate blood, and 40 were able to donate at the drive. Five people gave Power Red Cells (2RBC), which collects two units of red blood cells while returning platelets, plasma and a saline solution to the donor. One person volunteered for the first time. Vitalant expressed its gratitude to Sharon Caine, who coordinated the drive, and First United Methodist Church which sponsored the blood drive, as well as others who assisted with the drive, Don Caine, Carol McIlravy, Erma Mogck, Cheryl Trapp, Roxanne Mitzel, Jay Nitschke and Shari Becker. ....

LINCOLN, Neb. – It is finished, but far from over. Cattle and dairy industry reps assembled by Sen. Steve Halloran, chairman of Nebraska’s Agriculture committee, have spent more than 12 hours over four meetings discussing Nebraska’s Brand Act as part of Halloran’s interim study, LR 378, and suggesting changes to make Nebraska’s brand law more user friendly and modern. A report, to be compiled by ag committee research analyst Rick Leonard, is expected before Christmas, however, what the spring legislative session will look like as the pandemic stretches into 2021 is still an unknown variable.
