An ATM was yanked off the wall and dragged out of a gas station and convenience store near the Wolcott/Bristol line last week, police said Tuesday. Officers were called to the Nutmeg Farms on Wolcott Road around 2 a.m. Friday morning after a report of the theft. The 18-year-old Wolcott High senior, who is heading to the UConn in the fall, has a solid academic background filled with community service. Bartoli still found time to become a three-time All-State selection in cheerleading. How talented and versatile is Bartoli? Out of 162 cheerleaders statewide who submitted videos of their routines and resumes, Bartoli was recently selected as the Connecticut High School Coaches Association state Cheerleader of the Year. “As the Chairperson for the CHSCA Cheer committee, the committee and myself felt it was unanimous that Alexa (Lexi) Bartoli was this year’s CHSCA Cheerleader of the Year,” said Maribeth Sarnacki, who has been a special-education teacher at Cromwell High for the past 41 years. ....
February 6, 2021 Kathleen Blouin THOMASTON – Kathleen “Kathie” Blouin, 65, of Thomaston, devoted wife and mother, passed away peacefully on Jan. 23, 2021, with her family by her side. She was born to the late Rita and Dana “Tex” Mitchell. A graduate of Wolcott High, 1973, she married the love of her life, Jean-Guy Blouin, and spent 47 wonderful years raising their three daughters: Bridgette Keegan of Dexter, Maine, Danielle Blouin of Torrington, Melissa Blouin of Terryville. She was a loving grandmother to Wyatt and Brooklynn Keegan, and Weston Blouin-Lebeau. She was a faithful Jehovah’s Witness for 33 years and loved being in the ministry and spending time with family and friends. She loved dancing and hosting parties at their home, as well as traveling and cruising, especially to Bermuda. ....
