A Rhode Island man was sentenced Friday to more than nine years in prison for robbing five banks in the Greater Boston area in 2018, according to the U.S. Attorney s Office in Massachusetts.
Dong Lee, 50, and a co-defendant, Charles Lamont Wheeler, were arrested Sept. 14, 2018, after robbing banks in Avon and Brockton then leading the police on a high-speed chase in Attleboro, Acting U.S. Attorney Nathaniel R. Mendell said in a news release.
