A Rhode Island man was sentenced Friday to more than nine years in prison for robbing five banks in the Greater Boston area in 2018, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office in Massachusetts.
Dong Lee, 50, and a co-defendant, Charles Lamont Wheeler, were arrested Sept. 14, 2018, after robbing banks in Avon and Brockton then leading the police on a high-speed chase in Attleboro, Acting U.S. Attorney Nathaniel R. Mendell said in a news release.
