The KeyBank Foundation announced it s making a $1.5 million grant to The MetroHealth System to eliminate potential barriers to health and well-being for underserved populations and to expand the reach of the system s Institute for H.O.P.E. (Health, Opportunity, Partnership, Empowerment).
The gift is part of KeyBank s $40 billion National Community Benefits Plan, which invests in lower-income communities through small business loans, mortgages and other programs.
Chris Gorman, chairman and CEO of KeyBank parent company KeyCorp (NYSE: KEY), said in a statement that the bank is proud to partner with MetroHealth to address the root causes of health issues and to improve access to the resources that will help citizens live healthier lives. Plants, food and wellbeing fair to be held in Carlisle
More than 20 organisations are taking part in the Carlisle Plant, Food and Wellbeing Fair next month.
The free event in Bitts Park’s Victoria Gardens, has been organised by Carlisle City Council and Food Carlisle.
There will be lots of stalls in place promoting healthy living between 11am and 2pm on May 30.
Councillor Elizabeth Mallinson, Carlisle City Council’s portfolio holder for health and wellbeing, said: “Now that restrictions have been eased, we’ve organised this small-scale event to support our local communities coming out of lockdown.
“There will be around 20 stalls, with advice from composting, to growing your own produce, to taking care of your wellbeing. ....
