By News Director Jared Atha A Hydro man with a former felony conviction was arrested recently after being found with a firearm during a traffic stop in Weatherford. The suspect was also found to be in possession of controlled dangerous substances along with illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia. According to court documents, 31-year-old Kasey Dale John was arrested on July 17 in the 700 block of Kee Street when the Weatherford Police Officer discovered a .22 rifle located behind the drivers seat of the vehicle along with hydrocodone, alprazolam, and marijuana. The officer would also find a glass pipe in the vehicle as well. ....
A group of women have lost their trust in the Texas Medical Board after making reports of sexual harassment by their doctor. According to a report by the Star-Telegram, 24 women have come forward to reveal that they believe their cardiologist, Dr. Dennis Doan, sexually harassed and/or assaulted them during their visits. Get our free mobile app The case began in 2018 when Sunny Woodall spoke to Weatherford Police, and informed them that she felt Dr. Doan had sexually abused her during an exam. Weatherford Police then asked the public to come forward with information that may be related to their case, and found several other women with similar reports. ....

Weatherford Police Chief Lance Arnold, who joined the city as chief in 2017, said he has seen a lot of extremism on both sides of social issues, and wants to see leaders on both sides engage in some real conversations about issues, including equality. âI believe one positive that has come out of the [defund the police] movement are real discussions about many of the social issues the police are routinely asked to address, that have little to do with the actual functions of the police â such as maintaining safety, enforcing laws and preventing, detecting and investigating criminal activity,â ....
